Horseback Riding

Private horse farms and some B&Bs in Rappahannock County offer horseback riding and boarding opportunities at various levels of expertise. Certain designated trails within Shenandoah National Park also are available for equestrian access. The Conyers House Inn & Stable
Built in 1810 and 1790, our B&B was founded in 1981 as the county's first. We are the only B&B offering horseback riding or fox hunting to guests. We offer five rooms in the main house and have two separate out buildings as additional guest rooms. All the rooms have fireplaces, private bathrooms, air conditioning, queen beds except one king in Helen's Room. We have antiques for sale — ask. Our Jack Russell, Alex, will greet you. Canine guests are welcome in the Springhouse for an additional $50. A delicious full breakfast and afternoon refreshments are included. Please give us notice for riding or massages. Our riding is for two people and led by Sandra Cartwright-Brown, innkeeper, and can accommodate all levels of horsemanship. It is definitely a hands-on experience -- allow three hours. The scenery in Rappahannock is magnificent. Riding is $70 per person for overnighters and $80 per person for day trippers. Our other innkeeper is a court-appointed Marriage Celebrant.
Rates: $150-$300 per night
