Things to Do
Rappahannock County is home to Thornton Hill-FT Valley Hounds, located on Thornton Hill Farm in southern Rappahannock County. The farm has been the site of steeplechase races for more than 50 years; races are held in March and mid-September. The hounds hunt from September through March and can be seen throughout the county on one of 25 fixtures.
The Rappahannock Hunt, whose hunting territory comprises land in Rappahannock, Culpeper and Madison counties, is also based in Rappahannock County.
The Old Dominion Hounds round out the principal clubs. ODH sponsors two races in the spring, both at Ben Venue Farm in Rappahannock County.
Please visit the websites of the respective hunt clubs for hunting schedules and fixture locations. I addition, you may scroll down to the "Related Events" section below for more information on the races held here in the county.
